After podium success, Balfe Motorsport heads to the home of British motorsport

After two podium finishes at Snetterton last time out, Balfe Motorsport heads to the home of British motorsport this weekend (June 8/9), as the British GT Championship resumes for the challenging three-hour Silverstone 500, race six of the season.

The Grantham-based outfit returns to the track three weeks after its success in East Anglia, where Shaun Balfe and McLaren Automotive Factory Driver Rob Bell claimed a debut UK podium for the outstanding McLaren 720S GT3.

The first of two McLaren 570S GT4s will be piloted by trophy holders Graham Johnson and Michael O’Brien who aim to be back on the Pro-Am and GT4 podium after success in the first two rounds. The second, recently announced 570S GT4, will be piloted by Pure McLaren GT Series champion Mia Flewitt and runner up Stewart Proctor, fresh from testing at Donington Park last week.

The Balfe Motorsport squad will start track action on Saturday June 8th with two free practice sessions taking place in the morning, ahead of qualifying at 15:40. The spectacular Silverstone 500 is on Sunday June 9th, with lights out at 12:35.

Live coverage of qualifying and the race will return to SRO’s YouTube channel, GT World, with links to live timing and behind-the-scenes action shared across Balfe Motorsport’s official social media channels throughout the weekend.
